William G. Mathis, 83, of Waupaca, WI, passed away Monday, December 16th, at his residence. He was born in Palo, Iowa on September 1, 1936, a son of the late Irene (Lockhart) and Kenneth Mathis. Bill served in the United States Army from 1956-1959. He worked at the Waupaca Foundry for 25 years. Bill enjoyed going to flea markets each Saturday with his Sister, Betty. He attended several in the Fox Valley along with the 7 Mile Fair Flea market in Milwaukee.
Bill is survived by Brother in law: Richard Binley of Iola. Nephews & Nieces: Richard (Bev) Binley of Weyauwega, Michael (Chris) Binley of Iola, Tim (Susie Burr) Binley of Waupaca, Kim (Dean) Nelson of Waupaca, Harvey (Kathy Heger) Arndt, Great Nieces and Nephews: Michael (Stacy) Binley of Suffolk, VA, Barbara (David) Nelson of Scandinavia, Joseph Nelson & Kelsey Nelson and Samantha Nelson all of Waupaca, Patrick Nelson of Jacksonville, NC, and Tony (Becca) Binley of Weyauwega along with several Great Great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and Sisters: Betty Arndt and Ruth Binley and Brother: Kenneth Mathis.
Funeral Service will be held at Voie Funeral Home, Iola, Wisconsin, at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 20th, with Reverend Mary Bope officiating. Visitation will be held Friday 12:30- 2:00 PM. at Voie Funeral Home. Interment will be in the spring at Iola Riverside Community Cemetery in Iola.
