Valerie B. Thompson

Valerie B Thompson, 92, of Iola, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday November 26, 2023. She was born on November 13, 1931 in Polonia to the late Frank and Pauline (Rekowski) Ostrowski. Following her fathers death, her family moved to several different farms in the area. Valerie and her mother operated the farms along with the other siblings. In 1965, Valerie moved to Chicago and later married Richard Thompson and they eventually moved back to the Iola area. Richard preceded her in death in 1978. Valerie enjoyed the outdoors along with traveling. He most favorite trip was to the Holy Land. She was a very active member of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church in Rosholt and was known by many to be the "Great Communicator". Valerie is survived by a Brother: Dennis Ostrowski, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Theresa Dryszel, Anna Pochinski, Mary Nitka, Martha Jazdzewski, Regina Wojtalewicz and Irene Korpalski. brothers: Aloys, Nickolas, Henry, Sylvester, Felix, and Raymond and Frank Ostrowski. The Funeral Mass for Valerie will be held on Thursday, Nov 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church in Rosholt. The Father Thomas Nirappel will officiate. Visitation will be held at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:30 PM. on Wednesday, and on Thursday at the church from 10-11 AM. Interment will be at St. Adalbert's Catholic Cemetery.
