Shirley J. Abrahamson

Shirley J. Abrahamson, age 90, of Waupaca, Wisconsin passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at Park Vista The Legacy in Waupaca. Shirley was born in Scandinavia, Wisconsin on May 29, 1929, a daughter of the late Hazel Myra (Simonson) and Arthur Christian Hansen. She was born at the homestead that her Simonson grandparents had built.   She married Harold "Bud" Abrahamson on February 7, 1953 at the Scandinavia Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1988. She had worked for Zwickers Knitting Mill and then later in housekeeping and laundry at Bethany Home in Waupaca.                                                                                                                                       Shirley is survived by: Daughter: Ann (Nick) Blohm; Grandsons Adam, Nicholas and Alex Blohm.; Great Grandchildren: Dalton, Ryleigh and Eli. She is preceded in death by a Sister: Violet Wesley.   A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 3-6 PM at the Waupaca Town Hall,  N3514 County Road E Waupaca, Wisconsin. Shirley had requested no formal services. Interment will be in the Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Scandinavia, Wisconsin.  The family would like to thank Laurie and all the staff at the Legacy for the loving and compassionate care they gave Shirley and her family.
