Sandra Jean Colrud

Sandra Jean Colrud, age 60, of Madison, formerly of Rosholt, Wisconsin passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg. She had recently been in recovery from brain cancer and treatment from 2021, and after having been in remission from a brain tumor operation from over 21 years ago. Sandy was born on July 9, 1961, the adopted daughter of the late Ralph and Ethel (Olson) Colrud. Sandra attended Rosholt Public School system. She graduated with honors in 1979. Sandy was involved in sports including basketball, track & field and volleyball. She also played in the band. Sandra held two Associate Degrees, Veterinary Technician and Police Science, from Madison Area Technical College. She also attended UW-Madison and Edgewood College amongst a few others. Sandy was a Wisconsin sports fanatic. She loved the Green Bay Packers and could fire off team stats at any given time. She enjoyed rooting on the Milwaukee Bucks and UW-Madison teams. She volunteered her time for Hurricane Katrina Relief on two separate occasions while working for UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. Of course she came home with two cats that she rescued. Sandy also had a passion for Snoopy and Garfield products. Sandy’s fervent energy will be missed by many people and animals alike. Sandy is survived by her Brothers: David Colrud and Daniel Colrud both of Rosholt, Special Friend: Jessica Mandich, Step Mother: Jane Vesy Colrud, along with other relatives and friends. A Private Memorial Service and Visitation for Sandy will be held on Friday June 10th at Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt with Reverend Michael Peuse officiating. Interment will be next to her parents at the Alban Lutheran Cemetery in Town of Alban, Portage County, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, cash donations may be sent to the Humane Society of Portage County, 3200 Iber Lane, Plover, Wisconsin. 54467.
