Peggy A. Morey, age 79, Plover, Wisconsin, formerly of Iola, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at her apartment at Dimensions Assisted Living with her family. Peggy was born in Petersburg, Virginia on September 7, 1945, the only child of Raymond and Mary Bray. Peggy grew up in Petersburg. She had a privileged, happy, and adventurous childhood. On August 17, 1963 Peggy would meet the one and only love of her life, Donald Howard Morey, in Virginia Beach, Virginia while Don's ship was in port at the Norfolk Naval Base. They married less than two months later on October 12, 1963 and shared a wonderful life together until Don's untimely death, at the age of 52, on October 8, 1997. Together Peggy and Don raised three daughters. Peggy was a stay at home mom until their youngest daughter went to school full-time and then she began her career at Krause Publications, Iola, Wisconsin in 1978. She had a fulfilling work life and had celebrated nearly 29 years with the company when on September 16, 2007, she suffered a severe stroke. It was necessary for her to retire at that time, sell her home in Iola, Wisconsin, and move to her daughter's home in Plover, Wisconsin. Peggy loved traveling. She and her family enjoyed many vacations together traveling to different destinations in the states and abroad. She especially enjoyed sharing these memories with her daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. Whether it was Disney World, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico, or Europe, it was always an adventure and priceless memories were made. Peggy's two most important things in life were her faith and her family. She was a very talented pianist and shared that talent in both church and community. She accompanied countless student musicians in solo ensemble competitions, musicals, and talent shows over the years. She shared her gift with church families from the time she was in high school until her stroke prohibited her from continuing her ministry. She was a tremendous prayer warrior. Her love of the Lord was the cornerstone of her life. Peggy is survived by her three daughters and their families: Deborah Morey (John Czernicki), Plover, Wisconsin; Dawn (Duane) Wanta, Marshfield, Wisconsin; and Hope Danielle (Brad) Faldet, Waupaca, Wisconsin. Her grandchildren: Jacob (Danielle) Wanta, Stevens Point, Wisconsin; Jenna Wanta, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; Stenson Faldet, Appleton, Wisconsin; Mason Faldet (Summer Soller), Fort Collins, Colorado; Madyson Faldet (Alex Arnold), Waupaca, Wisconsin. Cherished great granddaughter, Anastasia Wanta. Sisters-in-law: Charmaine Morey, Hoffman, Estates, Illinois; and Deborah Morey, Iola, Wisconsin. Extended family, Dawn and Randy Nissen; Jessie Clark; and Jacci Olson. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary Bray; her husband, Donald Howard Morey; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jean and Donald Morey; and her brothers-in-law, Larry Morey and Scott Morey. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to Dimensions Assisted Living, Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Mom spent the last chapter of her life with this community (15 months). The care, kindness, and concern of each employee from the kitchen staff, administration, activities coordinators, and the caregivers gave our family peace and unwavering confidence that mom was always receiving the best care in a beautiful and friendly community. A private family graveside service will be held in the spring at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in the town of Dayton, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. The family wishes that each person blessed to know Peggy in her lifetime would cherish their own memories of a beautiful woman who made a difference in their life.
