Mary (Marie) Heinitz, 106, of Waupaca, WI, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away Wednesday, December 19th, at Park Vista The Legacy in Waupaca. Marie was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on December 6, 1912, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Rien) and Henry Knaub. Marie married David Heinitz on Feb 14, 1932. He preceded her in death in 1980. Marie enjoyed gardening as well as a job as a photographer at Schuster's in downtown Milwaukee. Both she and Dave participated joyfully in dancing, cards, fishing and socializing with family and friends. She had a strong faith which began early in childhood. She is survived by Sister in law: Pat Knaub of Iola; Nieces & Nephews: Laura (Harley) Grant of Tomahawk, Mary (Michael) Heuser of Portland, OR., and Elizabeth (David) Hauser of Iola; Daniel Knaub of Racine; Nancy (Jerome) Larsen, of Iola, Bruce Knaub of Green Lake, Terry Roggow of Florida, Richard Roxbury of Hartford and Robert Roxbury of Pewaukee, Jerry Wertz of West Bend. Marie was preceded in death by two brothers: Henry & Rubin Knaub three sisters: Martha Wertz, Eva Roggow & Esther Knaub Marie will always be remembered for her kindness and strength during situations that would have defeated most people. Funeral Service will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 3rd, with Larry Dulek officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
