Mark A. Helgeson

November 3, 1951 — May 15, 2018

Mark A. Helgeson, age 66, of Iola, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 15th, at U-W Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Mark was born in Iola on November 3, 1951, a son of the late Gunda "Bonnie" (Halverson) and Floyd H. Helgeson.

Mark graduated from Iola-Scandinavia High School in 1969. He worked as a salesman for Point Sporting Goods in Stevens Point and retired from CSI Sports of Minnesota. Mark enjoyed fishing in Canada, golfing and socializing with everyone. He played BABA baseball with the Scandinavia Vikings for over 29 years. While playing with the Vikings; his highlights of his career was being able to play with his son's Matt and Andy, winning the Grand Championship and sharing in on the comrade with his teammates.

He is survived by his
Special Friend: Sherry Hayburn, of Iola;
Sons: Matthew (Elizabeth) Helgeson, of Plover,
Andy Helgeson, of Waupaca;
Daughter: Katie (Trevor) Brya, of Orlando, Florida.
Five Grandchildren: Owen, David, Mae, Sawyer and Romy, his extended family : Melinda Doss & Melisa Hayburn, Faedra, Dawson and Khloe. Sister: Ann (Ray) Fey of Middleton. Mark was preceded in death by his Brother; William Helgeson.

Funeral Service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Iola, Wisconsin, at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 21, 2018. Visitation will be held Sunday 3-7 PM. at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola and at the church on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Interment of cremains will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Iola.
