Margaret Olson

Margaret E. Olson, 101, of Amherst Wi, formerly of Iola passed away peacefully on Monday October 25, 2021 at The Pines of Clintonville. She was born in Milwaukee on March 5, 1920 to the late John and Rose (Weisel) Hock. Margaret graduated from Washington High School and later worked at Gehls Dairy as a secretary/bookkeeper. She later moved to Iola where she met Willard Olson, they were married January 4, 1969 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. They resided on The Olson family farm enjoying the animals and gardening. They also enjoyed camping trips to Coon Valley and Norskedalen. They were active with the Norskeland dancers and Sons of Norway. Willard passed away on April 26, 2004. Margaret was active in Girl Scouts, teaching craft classes, she was an accomplished artist, loved to sew, and was editor of The Sons of Norway monthly newsletter until the age of 99 Margaret is survived by her brother John (Jack) Hock and family of Grand Haven MI. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willard, his siblings, a sister-in-law Marilyn Hock, and nephew Scott Hock. A Memorial Service will be held at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held Thursday at the funeral home from 10-11 AM. The Reverend Dr. Karen Zutz Rendall will officiate. Interment of cremains will be in the Our Savior's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
