Kenneth John Axelson (Ken) was born May 16th, 1967, in Milwaukee. In 1984 Ken quit Custer high school to enlist in the United States Army. Ken was an avid outdoors man, loving camping, fishing, and hunting. He worked hard all his life in construction, he was really a jack of all trades. Ken really enjoyed every moment he spent with his grandchildren. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Debra Axelson (Erickson). His mother-in-law Jeanette Erickson, and sister-in-law Dawn Erickson (Mike). His wonderful bonus children Tiffanie VanPatten (Joseph), Jon (JJ) VanPatten (Teressa), Tabitha VanPatten, Marissa VanPatten (Logan), and Samantha VanPatten. His pride and joy grandchildren Alicia, Adalynn, Ace, Lainey, Rayden, Brynlee, and Wesley. His siblings Lynette Miller, James (Krystine) Axelson, and Andrew (Stacy) Axelson. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his best friends Russ Stoll and Justyn Dallman. And his forever loving fur-babies, Paco and Bear. Ken is proceeded in death by his parents Victor and Linda (Carl) Axelson, his grandparents James and Louis Carl, and Harold and Genevieve Axelson. His father-in-law, brother-in-law, and a granddaughter. The Funeral for Ken will be held at North New Hope Lutheran Church in the Town of New Hope, Portage County, on Tuesday, August 17. 2021 at 1:00 PM. The Reverend Michael Peuse will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 11 AM - 12:45 PM. Interment followed by Military Rites will be held in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.
