Julianne Firkus

Julianne Adeline Firkus, 91, of Rosholt, passed away on Sunday September 29, 2024. She was born on July 25, 1933 in Kiel to the late Harry and Frieda (Rautmann) Karsteadt. Julianne married Richard A. Grube on Jan 20, 1952.  He preceded her in death in 1981.  She later married Myron Firkus on Nov 10, 1984.  He preceded her in death in 2002.

After leaving the Kiel area as a young adult, there were many places in Wisconsin she called home. They include Land O Lakes, Waukesha, and Rosholt.  Prior to retirement, Julianne was employed at River Pines, Rosholt School District, and Faith Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed staying busy and volunteering her time.  As a dedicated member of Faith Lutheran Church, she was involved in the Altar Guild, Quilting, Bible Study, worked as the custodian for a number of years and much more.  Julianne was an active member of the Rosholt American Legion Post 509. Traveling was a passion, along with listening to country and polka music, dancing and attending music venues.

She is survived by her Daughters: Cheryl A. (John) Zipfel, Renee E. Grube, Denise D. (Michael) Tarr and Son: Richard A. Grube Jr, along with grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She is also survived by many beloved family and friends. Julianne was preceded in death by father, Harry Karsteadt; mother, Frieda Karsteadt, and Sons: Ronald A.Grube, Randall A. Grube.

A Memorial Service to honor Julianne's life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt on October 18, 2024, at 1:00pm. Prior to the service, a Gathering will take place at the church starting at 11:30 am. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Julianne's life and sharing fond memories.

While we grieve the loss of such a beloved soul, we find comfort in the knowledge that Julianne is now at peace, surrounded by eternal love and serenity. May her gentle spirit guide us through this time of sorrow, and may her memory be a blessing to us all.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Julianne's name has been established.
