James Randall Crosslin

September 3, 1935 — February 12, 2024

James Randall Crosslin, 88, of Iola, passed away on Monday February 12, 2024. He resided at the Willows in Iola. James was born on September 3, 1935, in Royal Oak, Michigan to the late George and Virginia (Oakland) Crosslin. He married Mary Enerson on January 3, 1960. She preceded him in death in 2010. James is survived by his Daughter: Laura (Ron) Scott of Iola; Son: Paul Crosslin of Iola; Grandchildren Severina (Puneet Sidhu) Scott and Charlie (Jessica) Scott, Great Grandchildren: Delaney and Ruth, Brothers: Paul Thomas (Monica) Johnson and Kenneth Johnson along with other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his Sister: Audrey Leverenz. Dad was an expert at baseball. He was recruited to a major league team out of high school, he was that good. Though events prevented his from pursuing that dream, he loved and studied the game all his life. He won his fantasy baseball leagues almost every year; he would have made a heckuva manager. He was very proud of his service as a radio operator in the US Navy. Dad loved to sing, and dance, and he played a mean game of golf in the rare moments of recreation. Mainly, he strove to work hard and provide for his family, running his own successful air freight forwarding brokerage. He was scrappy and tough, but he was also funny, and kind. His grin, and his voice, will be much missed. The Funeral Service with full Military Rites for James will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Central Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in King with Rev. Dale Wilson officiating. For those attending, please meet at the cemetery office by 12:30 PM to follow the procession to the committal shelter. Lunch will follow the service at Simpson's Restaurant in Waupaca at 2:00 PM. The family would like to thank the staff at Iola Living Oaks and the Willows for the wonderful place that they made for James; his last days were such happy ones, in the care and company they provided so sincerely.
