Helen Kenney Brockway

Helen Kenney Brockway passed away peacefully in her sleep at 94 years of age on Sunday September 2, 2018 in Iola, WI. She was born in Litchfield, Connecticut on December 8, 1923. Helen graduated from Middlebury College in 1944 and received her MA in Library Science from the University of Chicago. She married Carl B. Brockway on September 19, 1947 and they were happily married for over 70 years. She enjoyed working as a reference librarian. She loved to read and passed on that love to her children and grandchildren. She was a very creative and artistic woman who loved photography, weaving, making beautiful braided rugs and the best pies ever. In time Helen and Carl retired in Scottsdale, AZ but were Wisconsinites at heart, spending their summers on “the farm” on Trout Creek Road between St. Point and Iola. Most special to Helen was spending this time sharing her love of the farm and the outdoors with her children, Stephen and Anne, and her four grandchildren, Maria, Ross, Anita and Ben. She is also survived by her sister Elinor. She was preceded in death by Carl on December 9, 2017. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
