Everett Laverne Peterson, age 94, of Amherst Junction, WI, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Ascension Saint Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point, WI. Everett was born in Iola, WI, on April 12, 1924, a son of the late Clara Ann (Olson) and Viggo Reuben Peterson. Everett married Anita Aasen on October 22, 1949 at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church.Everett graduated from Iola High School in 1942. He worked as a fuel delivery truck driver for 33 years working for Portage County Oil and Schierl Oil. Everett and Anita enjoyed square dancing and polka dancing. After retiring, he enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, reading, and visiting with family and friends. He was an active member of Nelsonville Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and was head usher for many years.He is survived by his Wife: Anita Peterson; Sons: Jeffrey Peterson, of Amherst Jct., Les Peterson, of Nelsonville, Steve (Donna) Peterson, of Amherst Jct. and Daniel (Becky) Peterson, of Amherst Jct.6 grandchildren: Mike, Samantha, Chris, Matt, Josh, Eric along with 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son: Michael Peterson. Sisters: Adeline Moe, Lilian Thoe, Norma Gregerson, Brother: Gene PetersonMemorial Service will be held at Nelsonville Lutheran Church, at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 10, 2018 with Reverend Dwight Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held Monday 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM. at Nelsonville Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery in the Township of New Hope, Portage County.
