Doris Jeanette Loken, age 92, of Butler, WI passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at Bethany Home in Waupaca, WI. Doris was born in the Town of New Hope, Wisconsin on January 12, 1926 a daughter of the late George and Belma (Nelson) Strand. She married the love of her life, Floyd Loken, on March 17, 1945 at North New Hope Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2013. Doris loved Jesus as her Lord and Savior, and she knew she would be spending eternity in heaven. She was very involved with her home church in Brookfield, Christ the King Lutheran Church. Doris grew up on her family’s farm in the Town of New Hope. As a child, she sang in church and skied to school.  After marrying Floyd, the couple moved to the Milwaukee area where they built their house in Butler and raised their three boys. Doris’s life revolved around family and loving them well. She enjoyed spending time with her children whether it be snowmobiling in the winter, spending time at their cottage on Hatch Lake in Iola, or being a den mother for Cub Scouts. She was also very active in her grandchildren’s lives. She provided many fun sleepovers and spent hours playing their favorite card games. She loved to knit slippers and bake banana bread or pumpkin torte for her loved ones. Doris was very proud of her Norwegian heritage. She often prayed in Norwegian with her family, and she traveled to Norway with Floyd and 2 grandchildren. Doris is survived by her 2 sons: Jeffrey (Jill) and Brian (Darlene) Loken; 6 Grandchildren: Natasha (Nathan)  Siebert, Tamara Loken, Tessa (John) Lewis, Jacob (Nicole) Loken, Erik Loken and Brandon Loken. Doris is further survived by 7 Great Grandchildren: Talya, Loken, Jonas, Channing, Finn, Esten, and Dane. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Loken; her sister, Shirley Wogsland; and her two brothers, Allen and Thomas Strand. Funeral Service will be held at North New Hope Lutheran Church at 3:30 PM on Friday, July 27, 2018  with Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00-330 PM at the church. Interment will be in North New Hope Lutheran Cemetery Town of New Hope, Wisconsin.
