Donald H. Carlson

Donald Harold Carlson, of Milwaukee, formerly of Iola, passed away peacefully on Nov, 22 2020 at the age of 89 years. He was born on Feb 1, 1931 in the town of New Hope, Portage County, Wisconsin to the late Clayton and Helen (Engum) Carlson. Donald served in the Army during the Korean war. He was as a sheet metal worker for GPF in Milwaukee for over 25 years. Don enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and playing Bingo.

He is survived by his wife: Marian (Merde) Carlson of 64 years and his son: Eric, brother: Clarence (Carol) Carlson and sister: Janet Olson, Brother in law: Julian (Carol) Merde.  Don is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.…

Funeral service will be held at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola on Thursday, Dec 3rd at 6 PM, with Rev. Dan Somers officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4-6 pm.   Interment will be at the Northland Lutheran Cemetery in Northland on Friday Dec 4th at 10 AM.
