Delores M. Rice

Delores Margaret (Kitzman) Rice, 94, of Iola passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023. at the Manawa Community Living Center, where she had been a resident for the past 3 years. She was born on November 16, 1928 in Town of Wyoming to the late Ferdinand and Elizabeth (Schivie) Kitzman. Delores married Wilbur "Buddy" Rice on March 27, 1948 in Evanston, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2019.

Delores was a homemaker. Her cooking was talked about through-out the years. She had a special love for her pets-cats,and dogs. Delores worked as a waitress at the Meadow Inn, Gators (Iola) (Switzers) and the Iola Golf Course. She sold Avon, loved going to church and was a member of the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her Daughter: Diane Rice of New London, Son: Gary (Cory) Rice of Iola. Grandchildren: Steven Rice, Jonathan Koepler, Brother: Bernard (Izzy) Kitzman of Waupaca, Nieces and Nephews: Tammy, Tommy, Suzie, Reynold, Carolyn, Mary Jane.
She was preceded in death by two Sisters: Vera Kitzman and Bernice Kitzman, two Sisters in law: Blanche Peterson, Dolly Connley, and Brother in law: Russell Rice.

The Funeral Service for Delores will be held on Wednesday March 29, 2023 at 11:30 AM at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola with Reverend Janice Kuder officiating. Public Viewing will be held at Voie Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM. Interment will be at Iola Riverside Community Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Iola Nursing Home and Manawa Community Living Center for the excellent care that was provided to Delores while she was a resident.
