Daniel Gerald Holz

Daniel Gerald Holz of Iola, Wisconsin, age 49, died unexpectedly May 28, 2018 from physical health and mental health complications. A private family memorial gathering is planned for Friday, June 8. Dan was born in Milwaukee, Wis. Sept 17, 1968. He is survived by: Sons Anthony and Kenneth Holz, of Iola; ex-wife Megumi Tomizawa of Japan. Parents: Gerald J. and Joan C. Holz of Sharon, Wis. Siblings: David A. Holz (wife Kay) of Iola, John R. Holz (wife Lisa) of Fall City, TX, Mary Novacek, of Princeton, Mn, Elizabeth Holz, of Austin, TX. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends from all over the world. Dan attended schools in Milwaukee, Wis, St. Paul, Mn, Alvarado, Mn, Iola, Wi. He graduated from Iola-Scandinavia High School where he played his favorite sport of basketball. Dan graduated from University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point with a Teaching degree. Dan married Megumi Tomizawa of Japan in 1994. Dan spent time in Spain, Italy, Japan. He was a multi-cultural man. Dan was fluent in English, Spanish, and semi-fluent in Japanese. Dan enjoyed teaching ESL (English as a second language) and was involved in that when he died. Dan was soft, personable, easy to like and love and will be greatly missed.
