Charles W. Stiles

Charles Wayne Stiles age 92 of Iola, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Stevens Point Health Services in Stevens Point, WI. He was born on January 21, 1932, in Flagstaff, Arizona to the late James & Nellie (Parke) Stiles. After his mother passed, he was raised by his Aunt Maude. Charlie, as he was well known around Iola, married Pamela Ann (Wolberg) Stone on October 30, 1993, at Fort Snelling Chapel in Minneapolis, MN. Charlie drove truck (car hauler) for Clarke Transport/Ryder for 40 years, retiring in January 1993. In January 1995 Charlie & Pam moved to Iola, WI where he enjoyed spending hours in his huge vegetable garden. In his last years, he still had peppers and tomatoes growing in pots on his back deck. Charlie loved to give away the vegetables he grew. Charlie also loved to go fishing. Charlie, Pam, and other friends/family members would travel to Canada for one or two weeks during the summer to go fishing. Charlie loved to go catfish & trout fishing. But he loved to catch and eat just about anything. Charlie is survived by his wife Pamela; his children: Bruce (deceased) & Jan Wold of Davenport, IA; Jeanne Engelsmeier of Delano, MN; Jay Stiles of Foley, MN; Brian Stiles of Odin, MN; Suzanne (Rich) Morrison of Woodbury, MN and Michael (Reshell) Barbour of Huntsville, Alabama; step-daughter: Sue (Brandon) Badham of Weston, WI and 2 brothers-in-law: Ron (Val) Wolberg and Mike (Fritz) (Tamie) He has 10 grandchildren: Tiffany Peacock, Jesse (Tara) Peacock, Adam (Krystal) Engelsmeier, Luke Stiles, Brittany (Alex) Lehn, Ben (Meghan) Wold, Jason Wold, Joshua (Valerie) and 2 step-grandchildren: John Badham and Seth Badham. 11 Great-Grandchildren: Tyler Peacock, Sean Woodard, Deven Rick, Kolby Peacock, Lyrik Peacock, Kyle Wold, Nick Wold, Cody Wold, Baylee Wold, Joshua (Jaime) Wold, Madison Wold and 2 great-great grandchildren Mitchell Wold and Hazel Stiles Charlie was preceded in death by his parents James & Nellie Stiles, son Bruce Wold, granddaughter Heather Woodard, mother-in-law Margaret Wolberg and brother-in-law Brian Wolberg. There will be a memorial service on Friday, September 20th at 1pm at Voie Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Street, Iola, WI 54945 with Associate Pastor Larry D. Moodie officiating. Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Stevens Point Health Services, and Heartland Hospice care for the compassionate care they gave Charlie during his time with them.
