Carmen E. Peskie, 96, of Waupaca, died Sunday, April 14, 2024. She was born on July 12, 1927 in Oshkosh to Clarence and Meta (Lemke) Barton. Carmen married Gerard Riley Peskie on November 30, 1946 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1994. Carmen graduated from Waupaca High School in 1945. She worked with her husband, Gerard; potato farming in the Town of Lanark for over 40 years. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church-Lanark and St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca. She served on several church committee's including church picnics, Bible studies and was a member of the Ladies Sodality. Carmen also volunteered at the Waupaca County Human Services and Riverside Medical Center. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, bowling, golfing, playing cards, swimming, and participating in water aerobics. She is survived by her Son: Mark (Kathy) Peskie, Daughters: Mary Ellen Marrs and Cheryl (Jeff) Pierce. Ten Grandchildren survive along with Several Great Grandchildren. Carmen is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Gerard, Son: Gary, three brothers: Russell, Marshall and an infant brother, Marcellus Barton; two sisters: Evelyn Barton and Joyce Strey-Hunt. The Funeral Mass for Carmen will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca with Father Xavier Santiago officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM. Interment will be at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery.
