Betty J. Wasrud

Betty J. Wasrud April 7, 1945 – June 1, 2020 Betty Jane Wasrud, 75, of Iola, died Monday June 1, 2020 at Theda Care Medical Center in Waupaca. Betty was born in Iola, Wisconsin on April 7, 1945, daughter of the late Gladys (Nassen) and Willard Johnson. Betty married Vernon Wasrud on June 5, 1965, he preceded her in death along with an infant daughter, Penny, son in law Richard Walter (Jean). Betty enjoyed family gatherings on the farm, cooking, quilting and her flower gardens. She was part of the Trout Creek Homemakers group and Tuesday Quilting group. Betty had worked at Myrtle's Drive-in and also at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. She is survived by children: Brian Wasrud, Jean Wasrud, Cari (Gordon) Ullom and granddaughter Haley Ullom serving in the United States Air Force. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A private family graveside service was held at Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery on June 4, 2020.
