John "Jack" Anderson

John (Jack) R. Anderson, 82, of Rosholt, died Sunday, October 10th, 2010 at Portage County Health Care Center in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. John (Jack) was born in Iola, Wisconsin on October 15, 1927, the son of the late John S. and Ruth L (Halverson) Anderson. John married Delores Erickson/Hanson on October 14, 1950 at the Alban Lutheran Church. Upon returning from the Army in 1948 as an Army Machine Shop 4th Sergeant in Nome, Alaska; he joined his father, John, in the family business, Anderson Machine Shop, founded in 1938. Jack bought the shop after the death of his father in 1961 and owned the business until 1987 when his son, Craig, bought the business where both Jack and Delores continued to work for several years. He enjoyed working in the woods especially with his son: Warner. He is survived by his Wife: Delores Anderson of Rosholt; Son: Craig (Norma) Anderson of Rosholt; Daughter: Jacqueline Mitchell of O'Fallon, Illinois. Grandchildren: Shannon and Sean. Step grandchild Mark Doede and step great-grandchildren Cheryl and Michelle Doede. Cousins, Audrey Spiegel, Donald Halverson, Warner & Janet Halverson and Hans Halverson. He was preceded in death by sister: Marjorie Ann Tuttle and son: Warner Lee Anderson Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 14th at 2:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt with Reverend John Poffinbarger officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 12 noon until the time of service.
