Veleda T. Aasen

Mrs. Veleda Theresa Aasen, age 82, of Iola, died Wednesday, October 6th, 2010 at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton, Wisconsin. Veleda was born in Antioch, Illinois on January 30, 1928, the daughter of the late Simon and Marie (Weiner) Edlmann. She married Clifford J. Aasen on November 29, 1975 at the Hitterdahl Lutheran Church Parsonage. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2003. Veleda enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, farming, riding her John Deere tractor, caring for her animals, polka dancing, gardening and crafting. She is survived by her daughter: Barbara (Gregg) Johnson of Iola; sons: Frank (Pat) Ambacher of Tigerton; Tracey (Donna) Ambacher of Iola; and Joe (Tracy) Ambacher of Iola. Veleda is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one sister, Freya Moser of Antioch, Illinois. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Funeral service will be held at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church in the Township of Iola, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 11th, with Reverend Dale Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday 5-7 p.m. at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola and at the church, one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the Hitterdahl Lutheran Cemetery.
