Russell J. Anderson

Russell J. Anderson, 80, of Iola, died Saturday, May 1st, 2010 at Crystal River Nursing & Rehab Center in Waupaca. Russell was born in Iola, Wisconsin on April 15, 1930, the son of the late Lee and Elida (Olson) Anderson. He was a graduate of Scandinavia High School in 1948. Russell became the commander of the Civil Air Patrol in Anchorage Alaska in 1949 and served in that capacity for many years. He had also worked as an electrician. He is survived by Brothers: Laverne (Marcella) Anderson of Iola. Allan (Rosalind) Anderson of Iola; Sister: Viola (Leonard "Pete") Anderson of Big Falls. Russell is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant Daughter: Taryn and two infant Sisters: Clarice Margaret Anderson and Clarice Theola Anderson. Memorial Services will be held at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 5:00 PM. The Reverend Dennis Olson, Pastor, will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-5 PM. Russell's cremains will be scattered on Mt. Susetna near Anchorage Alaska. Voie Funeral Home 120 S.
