Charles Olson

Charles Olson Osborne Charles "Charlie" Olson age 94, of Iola, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 25th, 2010 from Iola Living Assistance. Charles was born in the Town of Iola, Wisconsin on May 30, 1915, the son of the late Oscar C. and Josephine (Dobbe) Olson. He married Clara A. Budsberg on Dec 18, 1943 in Rosholt. She preceded him in death on Jan 5, 2008. Charles operated a dairy farm in the Town of Iola for most of his life. He was a member of Hitterdahl Lutheran Church in Iola; where he served on the church council, cemetery association, member of Lutheran Brotherhood and was a committeeman for the Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative. Charles worked as a volunteer for the Iola Car Show for many years. He and Clara also volunteered their time delivering "Meals on Wheels" in Iola. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his Son: Steve (Mary) Olson of Appleton. Daughter: Jane (Eric) Hanson of Appleton. Grandchildren: Jeremy Hanson of Appleton. Jaclyn (Ryan) Blake of Appleton. Jeffrey Hanson of Appleton. Thomas Olson of Appleton. Travis (Karri)Olson of Appleton. Michael (Tammy) Olson of Neenah. Matthew (Melinda) Olson of Menasha. Step Grandchildren: Bradley Ebann of Lafayette, IN. Elizabeth (David) Cornell of Ft. Irwin, CA. Charles is also survived by Eight Great Grandchildren: Kiara & Max Blake, Ella Jo Hanson, Mason, Marshal, Colton & Tanner Olson and Tyler Birn, One Sister: Ruth (Harold) Buchholz of Iola and One Sister in law: Geneva Olson of Iola. He was preceded in death by One Grandson: Joseph Hanson and by twin brothers: William & Willard Olson and his twin: Leonard Olson. Funeral Service will be held at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church in Iola, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 31st, with Reverend Dan Somers officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday 4-8 PM. at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola and on Wednesday at the church 1 hour prior to the service.
