Amy W. Knutson, age 89 of Weyauwega, WI., formerly of Iola, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at Weyauwega Health Care Center. Amy was born in Mekinock, North Dakota on May 29, 1920, the daughter of the late Olaf and Olive (Peterson) Muri. She married Donald Knutson on May 28, 1955 in St. Paul, MN. He died May 27, 2002. She worked as a secretary for Dynamic Seals in Wauwatosa, Grace Lutheran Church in Bloomington, MN., a church in Irving, TX, and Waupaca County Human Services. She also had sold Watkins products and tupperware. She enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, playing cards, especially Rook, and words games especially Scrabble. She also liked to visit people and have company over to her home. She was a member of the Sons of Norway-Norskeland 5-580, and very active in her church, having served as president of her ALCW. Amy and Donald had campsites and parking on their property during the Old Car Show. She had a strong Christian faith which showed in her cheery disposition and positive outlook on life. Through her life, she lived the story of the Sound of Music and was the glue that held the family together. She is survived by: Daughters: Diane (John) Cooper Clarendon Hills, IL. Mavis Graske Brooklyn Park, MN. Sons: John (Sandra) Knutson Fairbanks, AK. Glen (Lynn) Knutson Waukesha. Brother: Bob Muri Minnetonka, MN. Grandchildren: Kelly Martin, Erik Martin, Greg Graske, Carrie Kieffer, Dana Knutson, Jerusha Knecht, and Jena Knutson. Great Grandchildren: Emma Martin, Julia Martin, Breanna Knecht, and Logan Kieffer. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Eleanor Stadstad, Marge Kuntz, and Polly Peiffle and 2 brothers: Don and Dick Muri. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2010 @ 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Iola with Reverend Dennis Olson officiating. Friends may call Monday 4-8 PM at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola and again Tuesday from 9:30 AM Until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery.
