Eleanor Jane (Erickson) Owens

Eleanor Jane (Erickson) Owens passed away on Saturday, March 13 in Geneva, Il. She was born on June 29, 1927 to Mildred (Wesley) Erickson and Walter Erickson. She was raised by aunts and uncles on the family farm following her mother's death in 1936. Following graduation from Iola High School; Eleanor moved to Illinois where she earned her LPN license and was married to Robert Owens on February 14, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1994. Eleanor enjoyed coming back for visits with family and friends in Iola. She is survived by her children, James (Connie Vunk), Powell, WY, John (Corrine), Naples, Italy, Jennifer (Lorenzo) Albuquerque, NM and Jeffrey, St. Charles, IL, Grandchildren, Samantha Owens, Geneva, IL, Brandy, Michelle and Albert, Albuquerque, NM. She is further survived by an aunt Gladys Rineck, Iola, a brother-in-law, Wm. Meehan St. Charles, IL nieces Marlene (Kirk) Fisher, St. Charles, Patti (Dan) O'Brien, Geneva, IL, Pam (Kevin) Quinn, St. Charles, nephew Michael (Laura) Meehan, Rockford, IL and several grand-nieces and grand- nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Phyllis (Wm) Meehan and an aunt Evelyn Much, uncles Hanford, Allen and Burnett Wesley. Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, March 22 at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
