Ann G. Moerke, age 93, went to heaven on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010. Ann was born in Marengo, Wisconsin on April 14, 1916, to the late Ambrose and Genevieve (Mandel) Starkman. She married Henry Moerke on July 13, 1932 in Ashland. He preceded her in death in 1961. Ann was a successful business woman owning the Crystal Cafe in Iola. Her reputation as a spectacular cook was known throughout the area. The most important thing in her life was to spend time with her family. She enjoyed numerous activities including, traveling reading, crosswords, casinos and horse racing. She will greatly missed by her Children: Donald (Betty) Moerke of Maryland Heights, MO. Clarence (Karen) Moerke of Stevens Point. Judith (Douglas) Bolier of Stevens Point. Joseph (Susan) Moerke of Duluth, MN. Storm (Joan) North of Plover. Grandchildren: Michael, Randall, Pennie, Jeffrey, Susan, Benjamin, Ashley, Jennifer and Paul. Great Grandchildren: Malayna, Amanda, Steven, Alison, Sadie, Olivia, Amelia and Nathan; Great-Great Grandchild: Autumn, Sisters: Genevieve of Ashland and Laraine of Norwalk, CA. Ann was preceded in death by her husband: Henry Moerke and Daughter: Marilyn (LaVerne) Zdroik, an infant daughter, infant son: Thomas Moerke, Brothers: John, Ray, Louis & Edwin and Sisters: June, Victoria and Betty. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 8th 2010 with Father Brian Belongia officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 7th from 1-4 PM at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola followed by a prayer vigil at 4:00 PM. Visitation will also be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass. Interment of cremains will be in the Restlawn Cemetery in Wood County, Wisconsin this spring.
