Stella A. Williams

Stella Ann Williams of Iola, age 86, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at North Haven, Stevens Point, where she had been cared for since January. She was born on December 25, 1931, to Sidney and Fern Knutson of Ogdensburg and married Robert (Bob) Williams of Iola in October 1950. They farmed in the Iola area until the family moved to Anoka, MN in 1959. She was employed at the ThermoServ company until 1987 when, after retirement, she returned with her husband to the family farm in Harrison Township. Stella belonged to Hitterdahl Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Pricilla Circle and the choir. She was an active member of The Sons of Norway, and for many years, an Old Car Show volunteer. An enthusiastic daily walker, Stella also enjoyed gardening, helping on the farm and her pet cats. She is survived by Bob, her husband of 67 years, sons, Keith (Patricia) Iola and Michael, Anoka, MN; grandson Andrew Williams (Chelsea), Menomonie, WI; step-grandsons David Barger and Mark Williams (Christine), Stevens Point; great-grandson Iain Williams; step-great-granddaughter Kayla Williams. Stella is further survived by a sister, Virginia Mork of Janesville, two nephews, John (Pat) Mork and Tony Mork, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Melvin Knutson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church, Iola Township, with Rev. Dale Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The Voie Funeral Home in Iola is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hitterdahl Lutheran Church are appreciated.
