Viola Grenlie

Miss Viola I. Grenlie, age 94, Waupaca, formerly of Scandinavia passed away Monday, November 30th, 2009 at Riverside Medical Center. Viola was born in Scandinavia, Wisconsin on August 11, 1915, the daughter of the late Otto Hendrick and Inga (Nottleson) Grenlie. Viola attended grade school at Peterson Mill and graduated from the Scandinavia Academy. She was a member of Scandinavia Lutheran Church and enjoyed attending the church circle each month. Viola was honored at the 2007 Waupaca County Fair as the "Most Admired Senior". She delivered the mail to the residents at Crystal River Nursing Home; where she also turned out the lights for the staff each evening. She is survived by Sister: Edna Grenlie of San Francisco, Brother: Philip Grenlie of Scandinavia; along with numerous neieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Brothers: Morris, Herbert and Robert, Sisters: Winifred Enerson and Jean Timmers. Funeral Service will be held at Voie Funeral Home in Iola at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 3rd, with Reverend Mark E. Sabin officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday 12:30-1:00 PM. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Scandinavia, Waupaca County, Wisconsin.
