Vernon L. Wasrud

Vernon L. Wasrud, age 89, of Iola, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at his home. Vernon was born in Iola, Wisconsin on September 6, 1928, a son of the late Cecile (Martin) and Alton Wasrud. He married Betty Johnson on June 5, 1965 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Iola. Vernon had farmed a dairy farm all of his life in the Town of Iola. He loved the outdoors especially duck hunting on the Mississippi River and deer hunting on his farm. He loved his John Deere tractors and John Deere crawler. He is survived by his Wife, Betty; Son: Brian Wasrud; Daughters: Jean (Richard Walter) Wasrud; Cari (Gordon) Ullom; Granddaughter Haley Ullom; and a Sister: Shirley Johnson Vernon was preceded in death by an Infant Daughter, Penny. Funeral Servicse will be held at Voie Funeral Home, Iola, Wisconsin, at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 with Reverend Roger Nielsen officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday Noon - 2:00 PM. at Voie Funeral Home. Interment will be in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery Town of Scandinavia, Wisconsin later in the spring.
