Thomas M. Haroldson

Thomas M. Haroldson, age 95, of Rosholt, Wisconsin, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. He was born in the Town of Alban, Wisconsin on August 30, 1922, a son of the late Olliana (Lystul) and Martin Haroldson. Tom married Lois Arndt on her Golden birthday on Oct 22, 1955 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Big Falls. Tom served in the United States Army during Word War II. He was a charter and lifetime member of the American Legion Post #509 Rosholt for over 70 years. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW in Big Falls. Tom held many different jobs throughout his lifetime. He was an Insurance Agent for New Hope Mutual Insurance Company for over 60 years, where he served as President and on the Board of Director's.He was also an agent for Secura Insurance. Tom was a Rural Mail Carrier for 38 years. Other jobs included driving truck for Gamble Stores, was a Gandy dancer for the Green Bay Western Railroad, worked for Harley Davidson, drove school bus for the Rosholt School District, was a Real Estate Broker, and worked for the Portage County Highway Department. Tom enjoyed traveling. Each summer Tom traveled with his family across the country and enjoyed spending time with his fellow veterans, the 631st Tank Destroyer Battalion. He also traveled to Norway and Alaska and many other places. He was an exceeding proud father who enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards with his family. He also spent many weekends at his cottage in Mercer and also went on father and son fishing trips to Canada. He is survived by Wife: Lois Haroldson, of Rosholt; Children: Louisa Haroldson, of Rosholt, Julaine (Ole Larson) Haroldson, of Rosholt, John Haroldson of Rosholt, Marilyn (Mark Ligman) Haroldson, of Junction City; Two Grandchildren: Luke Haroldson and Camia Seiler and Nephew: Ron Junkin. He is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his Son: Thomas L. Haroldson and Half Sister Edith Junkin. Funeral Service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Rosholt, Wisconsin, at 12:30 P.M. on Friday, January 5th, with Reverend Michael Peuse officiating. Visitation will be held Friday 11 am - 12:30 P.M. at Faith Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Alban Cemetery in the Town of Alban, Portage County, Wisconsin.
