Allan E. Clark

Allan E. Clark, 83, of Iola, passed away Friday, September 8th, at Iola Living Assistance. He was born in Oelwein, Iowa on July 2, 1934, son of the late Ruth Hopkins and Wendell Clark. Al graduated from Priviso High School in Mt. Prospect, Illinois in 1950. He entered the United States Navy and served on a supply ship during the Korean War. Al married Sandra Fischer on June 22, 1963 in Waukegan, Illinois.

Al operated several businesses. He owned his own golf course in Greenfield, Ohio, a bowling alley in Lake Geneva, motel in Elkhorn, Lakeland Press, Chain O'Lakes Litho in Waupaca and the Clintonville Hotel. He was an accomplished golfer, winning several club championships at Waupaca Country Club; playing in state / local tournaments including the Channel 7 and other senior events. Al was well known by many to have one of the finest short-games around. He was a beloved Chicago Sports fan and always looked forward to watching the Bears, Bulls, Cubs and even the Wisconsin Badgers. Al enjoyed dancing to big band music and listening to the sounds of the opera and symphony. He loved to play cards; especially poker and gin. He also liked to bowl, shoot pool, dabble with golf carts, build golf clubs and repair things.

He is survived by wife Sandra,
Sons: Christopher Clark and Jim (Angella) Clark.
Grandchildren: Nicole, Rebecca, Laura, Stephanie, and Richard.
Brother: Ward (Ruth) Clark, Daughter in law: Leah Clark and Loving Canine Companion: "Rocky".
He is also survived by his Special Friends: Mel (Mary) Harn along with nieces, nephews other relatives and many golfing buddies.
Al was preceded in death by his Son: Steven Clark.

A Memorial Service for Allan will be held at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 4:00 P.M. with Reverend Dr. Charles Tews officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 2-4 P.M. Interment will be at a later date in Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca, Wisconsin.
