Margaret M. Gehm

Margaret M. Gehm, age 103, of Iola, formerly of Milwaukee, went home to Our Lord to live in peace eternally on Thursday,September 3, 2009. She was born July 3, 1906 in Underhill, WI., the daughter of the late Robert and Elsie (Dittman) Froemming. She married Robert Ernest Gehm on January 27, 1934 in Waukegan, IL. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1971. She was a homemaker caring for her family. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, craft work and baking. She was a member of the Pentecost Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee and the Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt. She is survived by two sons, Robert “Bob” (Jackie) Gehm of Iola, and Thomas (Janice) Gehm of Greenfield. She is also survived by a two grandchildren, Robert L. (Joanne) Gehm, Jr. of Portage and Lisa (Mike) Kelley of Elkhorn. She is further survived by a great granddaughter, Robyn Gehm. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Lenora Neider, Adele Graham, Frieda Wilson, Hildegard Nelson, and a brother, Elmer Froemming. Services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt, WI. The Rev. John Poffinbarger will officiate. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 10, 2009 @ 11:00 AM at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI. with the Rev. Michelle Townsend de Lopez of the Pentecost Evangical Lutheran Church officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden Crypt. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Pentecost Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the Iola Living Assistance or to Faith Lutheran Church. The family wishes to thank the Iola Living Assistance for all the wonderful care that they gave Margaret. Voie Funeral Home of Iola is charge of arrangements.
