Obituary Norman S. Sannes Scandinavia, WI. Norman S. Sannes, age 86, of Scandinavia, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at his home. He was born August 12, 1922 in the Town of Scandinavia, son of the late Knute M. and Emily (Phillips) Sannes. Norman married Alta Boelter on May 6, 1950 in Amherst. He was a dairy farmer in the Town of Scandinavia his entire life. He had been town chairman of the Town of Scandinavia for many years and also had been a member of the Farmington Lutheran Church Council. Norman had been a board member of the Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative, being elected in 1988 and seated on the board on January 28, 1989. While on the board, he served as secretary/treasury from February 3, 2000 until March 27, 2008. Norman, along with his father, K.M. Sannes had the distinction of having the Scandinavia Substation renamed the Sannes Substation in 2008. Only the second time the CWEC has bestowed that honor on someone. Norman is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alta. His children, Barbara (Bill) Lashua, Iola, Scott (Geri) Sannes, Scandinavia, Ginger Olson, Iola, and Sally (Wade) Bertram, Amherst. Two Brothers, Gahart (Henrietta) Sannes, Amherst, and Gordon (Joanne) Sannes, De Pere. One sister, Nancy (Irwin) Johnson, Marshfield, Ten grandchildren, Dean (Dawn) Lashua, Sarah (Jeff) Heschke, Melissa Sannes, Kevin (Sina) Sannes, Rachel (Brian Mefferd) Sannes, Ryan, Jordan, and Jeff Olson, Jessica and Stephanie Bertram. Also survived by six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Lashua, and two brothers Kenneth and Truman Sannes. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2009 @ 11:00 AM at the Scandinavia Lutheran Church. The Rev. Mark Sabin officiating. Friends may call Sunday 4-8 PM at the Voie Funeral Home and from 10:00 AM Monday at the church until time of the service. Burial will be in the Bickel Cemetery, town of Amherst. A memorial has been established in Norman’s name. The Voie Funeral Home of Iola is in charge of arrangements.
