David J. Olson

David J. Olson, age 59, of Iola, passed away Saturday, June 27th, 2009 at Appleton Medical Center. David was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on October 6, 1949, the son of Sophie (Hoffman) Olson and the late LaVerne Olson. He married Deb Opsahl on March 12, 1984 in Agana Guam. David was a drummer in the Heart Strings band in the 1970's and most recently the Vegetablemen. He loved riding and taking care of his horses and animals on his ranch. David graduated from the MacKenzie College in Chattanooga, TN with an Associates Degree in Business. He enjoyed traveling and most recently filming 'Vacations On Horseback' as "JD" with Bill Porter's Wildlife Unlimited. He is survived by his Wife: Deb Olson of Iola; Mother: Sophie Olson of Iola, Children: Matthew (Joyce) Olson of Ringold, GA; Daniel (Eva) Olson of Harvard, Illinois; Jessica Olson of Seattle, WA; Grandchildren: Christian & Alex Olson; Sisters: Patricia (Donald)Pflugradt of Marshfield and Shirley (Tom) Schultz of Green Bay. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends. David was preceded in death by his Father: LaVerne Olson. A Celebration of David's Life will be held on Sunday July 5th, 2:00 P.M. at the D & D Ranch at N7624 Bestul Road in the Town of Helvetia, Iola, Wisconsin.
