Obituary Lorraine M. Erickson Iola, WI. Lorraine M. Erickson, age 78, of Iola, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at the Iola Living Assistance. She was born May 27, 1931 near Clintonville, daughter of the late Rinard and Cora ( Austreng ) Krause. She was married to Harold Nellis. He died in 1958. She then married Leo Erickson on December 2, 1961 at the Hitterdahl Lutheran Church. He survives. After settling down with Leo in Iola, Lorraine stayed at home and raised their two sons, Lonny and Larry. She was very active in her church and the community. In 2007 she was named the Iola- Scandinavia Outstanding Citizen. She also was a member of the Barbara Rebekah Lodge # 9 in Stevens Point. She had enjoyed working up at the greenhouse near the IGA selling flowers. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, dancing, having coffee at Crystal Café, cooking, volunteering for various charities, watching TV and feeding the birds She is survived by her husband, Leo, of Iola. Sons, Lonny Erickson, of Sarona, WI. and Larry Erickson, of Iola. She is further survived by four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister in law: Helen Smith of Scandinavia. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 19, 2009 @ 11:00 AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola. The Rev. Dennis Olson will officiate. Friends may call Thursday 4-7 at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola There will be a Barbara Rebekah Lodge # 9 service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hitterdahl Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Lorraine will be missed by family and friends.
