Obituary Richard L. Heckenlaible Iola, WI. Richard L. Heckenlaible, age 68, of Iola died Monday, June 1, 2009 at his home. He was born November 18, 1940, son of the late Elmer and Dorothy (Lemke) Heckenlaible. He married Arlene "Rena" Irr on July 21, 1962 at Fort Houstis in Virginia. He was a US Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member and past commander of the Iola American Legion Sheveland-Taylor Post # 14. He also was a member of the Waupaca County American Legion, having served as vice commander and commander. He had been a dairy farmer and also had worked as a mechanic at various places. He enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing and golfing. Family and friends knew him as a gentle, nice quiet man. Richard is survived by his wife, Arlene “Rena”, of Iola; two sons, Richard (Sherral) Heckenlaible II, of Iola, and Dale (Connie) Heckenlaible of Buffalo, MN. a grandson, Ty Heckenlaible. A sister, Sue (Gordon) Grosnick, of Seymour and three brothers, Dwayne (Irene) Hecklaible of Arizona, Robert (Carol) Heckenlaible of West Bend, and Byron (Peggy) Heckenlaible of Freedom. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 @ 11:00 AM at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola. Rev. Mark Sabin will officiate. Friends may call Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King. Voie Funeral Home 120 S.
