Agnes I. Ferg

Agnes I. Ferg, age 88, of Iola, formerly of Rosholt, passed away, June 2nd, 2009 at Iola Living Assistance Agnes was born in Town of Harrison, Wisconsin on April 20, 1921, the daughter of the late Alvin and Elizabeth (Lamphear) Madson. She married Frederick Ferg on November 10, 1945 in Rosholt, Wisconsin. Agnes was a graduate from the Scandinavia Academy and the Central State Teachers College in Stevens Point. Prior to her marriage she taught in a one room school house in the Bevent area. She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Women of the the ELCA. Agnes was also a 4-H leader of the Rosholt Pioneers for over 20 years. In addition, she and Fred operated a pick-your-own strawberry business for 25 years and also a registered Holstein dairy farm for 35 years. She is survived by her Husband: Fred Ferg of Sylvan Crossing in Stevens Point, Daughters: Joyce (Dan) Olson of Sheboygan Falls, Ruth (Timm) Voltz of Omro, Son: Richard (Krystal) Ferg of Rosholt, Grandchildren: Chanda Olson of Milwaukee, Wendy Olson of Milwaukee, Eric Olson of Sturgeon Bay, Justin (Melissa) Ferg of Rosholt, Jenessa (Scott) Oberstadt of New London, Jolynn (Stephan) Wucherer of Weyauwega, Kaitlin (Adam) Spierings of Weyauwega, Kassandra (Jon E. Krasselt) Ferg of Oshkosh. Great Grandchildren: Ian & Reid Oberstadt. Sisters: Beatrice (Roger) Carlson of Elderon, Betty (Lee) Wolff of Wittenberg; Sister in law: Gloria Madson of Elderon. Agnes is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Agnes was preceded in death by Son: John Ferg, Sisters: Elsie Hartvig, Alta Berge, Beryl Madson and Roberta Lynde and Brother: Philip Madson. Funeral Service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 6th, with Reverend John Poffinbarger officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday at the church from 10-11 AM. Interment will be in Concordia Cemetery in Rosholt.
