Ian D. Yenter

August 29, 1988 — June 5, 2016

IAN D. YENTER Age 27, of Dickinson, ND, formerly of Chetek, died Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD following an automobile accident. Ian was a devoted father that loved and cherished his baby girl. He couldn't wait to put a pole vault pit in the back yard to teach Ehvy how to fly. Her favorite things to do with her Daddy were riding fast on any vehicle, reading books, and playing whoosh with their capes. Ian had a great love of anything with a motor, dirt and rust, the uglier and older the better but he was sure he could restore it. Ian was a part of the UW Platteville track and field team. His specialty was the decathlon, but his love was always the pole vault. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved snowboarding, and hunting and fishing with his Dad. Ian met the love of his life in Lara Joseph and wanted nothing more than to marry her on July 30, 2016 and raise their daughter together. He is survived by his fiancée Lara Joseph, Daughter: Ehvy Lu 21 months, Parents: Bryan & Sara (Jensen) Yenter, Dickinson and Sister: Emily, Platteville, along with grandparents: Lenore Jensen, Scandinavia, Joan Yenter and Tony Yenter, both of Amherst, aunts, uncles other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather: Henry Jensen. Ian had an unparalleled love and zest for life that was evident to anyone who met him. His smile lit up the world and everyone he touched. Our lives are a little darker without his laughter and joy to shine our way. Memorial Services will be held Scandinavia Lutheran Church, 105 Church Street, Scandinavia, WI 54977 on Saturday June 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM. The visitation will be held at the Voie Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Street, Iola, WI 54945 on Friday June 10, from 4-8 PM and at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM till the time of service.
