Mrs. Mae Catherine Twetan, age 97, of Iola, passed away Tuesday, May 12th, 2009 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. Mae was born in New London on November 4, 1911, the daughter of the late Fred and Laura (Nock ) Holtz. Mae graduated from New London High School in 1929. She worked at the New London telephone office. Mae married Dr. Charles E. Ostermeier in 1935. He preceded her in death in September 1949. She later married James Twetan on December 6, 1952. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1994. Jim & Mae moved to Iola and resided in the home they built until October 2007. She then lived happily at Living Oaks Assisted Living Facility. Mae was a homemaker, member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Iola; where she was a member of the Faith circle. She was also a charter member of the Iola Community Golf Course, was an avid bridge player and a wonderful cook. She is survived by her Daughter & Son in law: Marcia (James) Helgeson of Iola; Grandchildren: Eric (Jill) Helgeson of Eagle River. John (Erin) Helgeson of Iola. Jeff (Lorelei) Helgeson of Bradenton, Florida. Great Grandchildren: Brandon & Alek Helgeson of Eagle River. Kalee & Tripp Helgeson of Bradenton, Florida. Mae was preceded in death by two sisters: Grace Holtz & Jeanette (Vilas) Frailing and One Brother: Harold Holtz. Funeral Service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 18th, with Reverend Dennis Olson officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 10-11 AM at the church. Interment will be in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Scandinavia, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. A memorial fund has been established to the Our Savior's Lutheran Church-Radio Fund. The family thanks the staff at Iola Living Oaks for their wonderful care and at Riverside Medical Center for the compassionate, tender care and support from Nurses, Doctor's and Health Care Techs.
