Marion June Schmoldt-Arndt (Nee Seidl), died peacefully, April 26, 2009 in Iola, Wisconsin, surrounded by her family. Born, August 1, 1917 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents Wolfgang and Anna Seidl. Preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Edward Schmoldt, brothers Wolfgang, Ernie, Howard, Harold, Al, and George and sisters Elsie and Rose. Survived by husband, Ralph Arndt, and sisters Leona and Eleanor. Also survived by daughters, Sue Perkins and Debbie (Jeff) Thorkildsen; grandchildren Lisa (Mark) Peterson, Amy Perkins, and Brian Thorkildsen; great granddaughter, Christina Perkins; best friend Ann Puskarich; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Marion worked for the J C Penney Company, Catalog Division, as a Quality Control Specialist in the Home Furnishings Department from 1965 until she retired. She was a member of Greenfield Park Lutheran Church. Marion had always dreamt of owning a lake home and dream became a reality when she and Ralph moved to Manawa and bought their home on School Section Lake. She enjoyed fishing and watching the wildlife. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, ceramics, and flower and vegetable gardening. She especially enjoyed caring for her family. A funeral service will be held at Greenfield Park Lutheran Church at 1236 South 115th Street, Milwaukee, WI. 53214, on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Those wishing to pay their respects will be received at the church on the day of the service from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The family wishes to say a special thank you to the entire staff at the Iola Living Assistance for their outstanding care and service to Marion and her family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Iola Living Assistance.
