Mr. Wilmer "Bill" H. Garbe, 84, of Iola, passed away Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 at Iola Living Assistance. Bill was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 16, 1924, the son of the late Richard and Myrtle (Bittner) Garbe. Bill married Irene (Fritz) Garbe on May 11, 1946 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. While living in Milwaukee, Bill worked for Allen Bradley Corporation for 19 years and was the constable for the City of Greenfield. He owned and operated Sportsman Bar in Iola for 13 years and retired from the Waupaca Foundry in 1988. He loved fishing, camping, playing golf, hunting and horse back riding. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca. He is survived by Wife: Irene Garbe of Iola; Daughter: Judy (Dennis) Gregerson of Iola; Sons: Richard (Linda) Garbe of Amherst. Gary (Claudia) Garbe of Iola. Scott (Linda) Garbe of Iola. Bill is also survived by 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson, nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by a Son in law: Dennis Gregerson Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Waupaca, Wisconsin at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 18th, with Father Brian Belongia officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday 9-11 AM. at the church. Interment will be in the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Waupaca, Wisconsin. Voie Funeral Home 120 S.
