Ronald E. Olson, age 74, of Iola, passed away Monday, April 6th, 2009 at Appleton Medical Center.
He was the husband of Phyllis Joan (Nerdahl) Olson. Ron and Phyllis were married on November 12, 1955 at Northland Lutheran Church. He was born in Town of Scandinavia, Waupaca County, Wisconsin on October 24, 1934, the son of the late Ludvig Carl and Inga Malfrida (Erickson) Olson.

Ron graduated from Iola High School in 1952. As a young person he enjoyed playing the trumpet in band, ski jumping at Hogsback and going to dances and listening to polka music. Ron worked as a salesman for various millwork companies in the Fox Valley. He later became a technician for Midwest Breeders and retired after 20 years of service. Ron liked listening to the Milwaukee Braves on radio, watching the Brewers, Packers and the Badgers on television. He liked to spend time talking with his family along with visiting with his friends. Ron was an avid trapshooter and always looked forward to deer hunting with his boys each year. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Sons: Dr. Jeffrey (Ann) Olson of Mequon,
Mark (Jacci) Olson of Waupaca,
Grandchildren: Katelyn Olson of Mosinee,
Jonathan Olson of Mequon,
Chelsea Olson of Waupaca,
Lauren Olson of Mequon.
Ron was preceded in death by Two Brothers: Marvin Olson & La Verne Olson.

Funeral Service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Iola at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 10th, with Reverend Dennis Olson officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday 4-7 P.M. at Voie Funeral Home in Iola and on Friday at the church from 9:30-10:30 A.M. Interment will be in the Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Scandinavia, Waupaca County, Wisconsin.
