Raymond L. Peterson

Raymond L. Peterson, 100, of Iola, WI, passed away Tuesday, March 1st, at his residence. Raymond was born in Iola, Wisconsin on April 6, 1915, a son of the late Agnes (Krause) and Abraham Peterson. He married Ruth Margaret Schlender on Sept 26, 1940 in Highland Park, Illinois. She preceded him in death on Jan 25, 2011. Raymond and Ruth lived in Burlington, WI where they had owned and operated Echo Soda Factory. In 1976, the couple retired and moved to Marion, WI where they were active at the Marion Senior Center, delivering Meals on Wheels and playing dart ball. The couple moved to Iola in 2003. He is survived by his Children: Nancy (Bruce) Gilbertson, of Manawa. Donna Sullivan, of Iola. Ronald (Beverly) Peterson, of New London. Holly (Richard) Reed, of Lakeside, AZ. 5 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by 2 Brothers and 2 Sisters. Funeral Service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Iola, at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 4th, with Reverend Dennis Olson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10-11 AM. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in the Village of Iola.
