Laurel E. Anderson

Laurel Elenor Anderson, age 97, of Waupaca, formerly of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, December 27th, at Bethany Home in Waupaca. Laurel was born in Town of New Hope, Wisconsin on March 9, 1918, a daughter of the late Tena (Melum) and Fred Henke. She married Herbert Anderson on August 28, 1941 at the North New Hope Lutheran Parsonage. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2015. Laurel was a homemaker. She loved baking, gardening, flowers, sewing, and embroidery. In the winter time; she loved cross country skiing with the Nelsonville ski group. She was always ready for the grandchildren with cookies or something sweet. Laurel was a devoted member to her community and the Nelsonville Lutheran Church. She was involved with the Ladies Aid, PTA, Nelsonville Women's Club and Nelsonville Zippy Zees. She is survived by Son: David (Sandra) Anderson, of Nelsonville; Daughters: Gayle (Al) Trzebiatowski, of Iola. Jane (Gerald) Bohm, of Amherst. 9 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Laurel was preceded in death Brothers: Carroll, Eugene, Willard, Julian and Roger Henke and one Sister: Irene Segafredo. Funeral Service will be held at at Nelsonville Lutheran Church, Nelsonville, Wisconsin, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 31st, with Reverend Dwight Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday 9:30 -11 AM. at Nelsonville Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
