Douglas L. Bolier, age 67, of Stevens Point, passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 22nd surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Doug was born in Baldwin, Wisconsin on August 22, 1948, son of the late Donald & Dorothy (Niederer) Bolier.   Doug graduated from Baldwin-Woodville High School in 1966. He married Julie (Vrieze) Schmidt in 1968 and they had two children, Aimee (Bolier) Christenson and Brian Bolier. In 1978, he married Judith Moerke and took her daughter, Jennifer (Moerke) Schustek as his own. Doug worked for United Parcel Service as a driver and in quality management for over 27 years, retiring in 1995. Doug’s years with UPS and legacy of hard work was very important to him and brought him lifelong friendships. Following retirement, he and his wife Judy purchased the Crystal Cafe in Iola, known for their pies and good home cooked meals! Doug loved his toys! He enjoyed many years boating, golfing, skiing, riding motorcycle, RV’ing and traveling. For the past ten years Doug and Judy had a winter home in Florida where they enjoyed spending time with many old friends. Doug was a very generous and caring soul, and the door was always opened to any family members that wanted to get out of the cold! But family and friends were Doug’s passion and delight. His smile was contagious. That smile, we will miss dearly. He had a heart of gold and his generosity was a trademark.   He is survived by his Wife: Judith Bolier, of Stevens Point; Children: Aimee (Shane) Christenson, of Stillwater, MN. Brian (Annie Riley) Bolier, of West St. Paul, MN. Jennifer (Nathan) Schustek, of Iola. Sister: Patti (Wayne) Helgeson of Baldwin. Grandchildren: Avery & Ethan Christenson, Adele & Stella Bolier, Sadie & Olivia Schustek. Doug was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Steve and Michael. A Celebration of Life will be held at the at Blue Top Supper Club (Rookies), 3425 Church Street in Stevens Point, on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 4:30-8:30 PM. Interment (burial) and celebration of life will be in Baldwin, Wisconsin next spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Doug can be made to Hope Lodge Marshfield Clinic, 1000 N. Oak Avenue, Marshfield, Wisconsin 54449.
