Evelyn L. Wogsland, age 90, of Scandinavia died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Riverside Medical Center, Waupaca, Wisconsin. Evelyn was born in the Town of Amherst on September 18, 1924, daughter of the late Hans and Emma (Hiller) Balstad. She married Leonard E. Wogsland on April 24, 1954 at the North New Hope Lutheran Parsonage. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2003. Mom enjoyed baking, especially pies and her fricakes. When you came to her house, you did not leave hungry. The coffee pot was always on and many conversations happened across the table in that tiny kitchen. Mom worked along-side Dad in the field, milking cows, doing chores, driving tractor and she tended a big garden and made meals. When she became a grandma, she watched her 6 granddaughters grow up like sisters. She taught them Norweigian, made lefse and all the pastries, fed them and watched them play at her house. Mom was a very happy and positive person. We are very lucky to have had a Mom and our girls having a grandma like her. "We will see you again. Have a good rest-you deserve it". Lenore and Karl Evelyn is survived by her daughter: Lenore (David) Peterson, of Scandinavia, and a son: Karl (Barbara) Wogsland, of Scandinavia. She is further survived by six granddaughters: Kristine, Melissa (Jordan Richter), Lindsey, Rebecca, Jolene, Emily and great grandson, Elijah.
