Margaret J. Matson

Margaret Jane Matson, age 94, of Waupaca, formerly of Scandinavia, died Sunday, April 19th, 2015 at Crystal River Nursing & Rehab Center. Margaret was born in Chetek, Wisconsin on December 28, 1920, the daughter of the late Louis Bernard and Inga (Alm) Jacobson. She married Walter L. Matson on April 22, 1944 in Scandinavia. He preceded her in death on Sept 11, 1995. Margaret loved playing her harmonica. She always looked forward to speaking Norwegian with her family and friends and was always a very positive and upbeat person. She is survived by her Daughters: Darlene (Vern) Wittlinger of Colby Audrey (Stanley) Johnson of Waupaca; Son: Larry Matson of Waupaca. She is also survived by 11 Grandchildren, 20 Great grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren and a very special friend: Gilbert Buchholtz of Crystal River Nursing & Rehab. in Waupaca. She was preceded in death by 4 Brothers and 1 Sister. Funeral Service will be held at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 27th, with Tony Craig. officiating. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday 1-hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Scandinavia, Waupaca County, Wisconsin.
