Elvira H. Colrud

Elvira Helen (Halverson) Colrud, age 97, of Rosholt, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Harmony Assisted Living in Stevens Point. She was born April 3, 1917 in the Town of Alban, daughter of the late Gust and Clara (Dobbe) Halverson. Elvira married Bennie Colrud on June 19, 1937 at Alban Lutheran Church. Following the depression years, this happy occasion was observed by many cars and buggys lining Hwy 66. They were married for 64 wonderful years. Bennie preceded her in death on March 25, 2002. Elvira was involved in many activities over the years. She was a very active leader in 4-H. She taught many young girls how to sew. She was a very active member of Faith Lutheran Church, being involved in cradal roll, bible study, altar guild, lutefisk and lefse suppers. Elvira enjoyed smear, scrabble, pinochille, other board games, picnics, taking pictures, and writing. She won 1st place in the Pillsbury Bread Baking Contest. The biggest part of their lives was watching their grand kids grow up. Elvira is survived by one son, Wayne Colrud,; three daughters, Phyllis Bradish, Dawn (Paul) LeNoble, and Faye (Chet) Yenter; two sisters, Clarice (Bob) Christensen and Joan Larson: nine grandchildren, Debbi (Jeff) Kruszka, Jacki (Joe) Worzella, Cheryl Bradish, Tammi (George) Lawless, Tim (Laura) Rice, Shelli (Jay) Haferbecker, Heidi (Ryan) Barz, Shawn Colrud, and Heidi Hens. a step grandson, Bruce (Kris) LeNoble; nineteen great grandchildren, Andy, Emilee, Kelsee, Alex, Tyler, Kyle, Mira, Nadia, Mitchell, Gavin, MaKenna, Breanna, Lexi, Cayden, Noah, Marcus, Cameron, Olivia, and Brooklyn. two step great grandchildren, Amie and Megan; two great great grandchildren, Ella and Landen. She was preceded in death by; four infant siblings, a sister, Evelyn (Ray) Raab, a brother, Herbert Halverson; a son-in-law, Donald Bradish, sisters-in-law, Myrtle (Frank) Pastohr and Gladys (Joe) Shields and a brother-in-law, Gordon Larson. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 @ 10:30 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt with the Rev. Michael Peuse officiating. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 8:30 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in the Alban Lutheran Cemetery.
