Lila M. Aanstad

Lila M. Aanstad, age 81, of Iola died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Iola Living Assistance. Lila was born in Town of Harrison, Wisconsin on November 6, 1932, the daughter of the late Norman and Othellia (Thoe) Aasen. She married George Aanstad on March 27, 1954 at the Hitterdahl Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1998. Lila was a graduate of Iola High School class of 1950. She had worked on the family farm, for Chet Krause as his first secretary and for MR Ceramics. Lila was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where she very involved in church activities. She also had been a member of the Twin Grove Homemakers, Sons of Norway, and the Iola Historical Society. She supported the local athletic teams. Lila enjoyed travelling with George in their motor home especially to Country Music Fest. Lila is survived by; two daughters: Marsha (Carl) Morse, of Abrams, and Gail (Peter) Fox, of Ecuador; two sons: James Aanstad, of Iola and Randall Aanstad of St. Paul, MN.; Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one brother: Everett (Viola) Aasen, of Iola; two sisters-in-law: Helen Aasen and Melane Zietlow. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lila was preceded in death by, a sister: Dorothy Melum and four brothers: LaVern, Willard, Donald, and Norman Jr. Aasen. A Funeral Service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Iola, Wisconsin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 with Reverend Dennis Olson officiating. Visitation will be Monday, February 17, 2014 from 4-7 PM. at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola and on Tuesday 9:30 AM until the time of service at the Church. Burial will be in the Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Scandinavia, Wisconsin Register and online condolences at voiefuneralhome@tds.net
